Our notes on Volotea
On Volotea, the price gap is the decision. Priority Boarding, which brings the overhead cabin bag, starts from €9 when you book, while turning up with a cabin bag without it costs €65 per flight. Volotea's own price table shows the same pattern for a 10 kg checked bag: from €9 online, from €45 at check-in and €65 at the gate, and you can add bags up to two and a half hours before departure.
With Priority, the weight rule covers both bags together, so a heavy under-seat bag leaves less for the cabin bag. Going over costs €65 per item and per flight.
Megavolotea members also get the cabin bag, but only if there is room: when the bins are full at the gate, it goes in the hold for free and comes back on the baggage carousel.
